How do I work with you?

I am very flexible in my approach, and will try to work with you in the way that suits you best, intervening as much (or as little) as you like.

I will try not to interfere with your individual style, but will help you express yourself fluently. My aim is that your writing should be correct and appropriate to your task, but still speak with your unique voice.

Free sample edit

I will usually ask for a sample and discuss what you want me to do. Then I will edit your sample and return it to you with my changes marked, so that you can see if you like what I have done. That part is free, and with no obligation. Once we agree what type of editing you require I will then give you a quote for the complete work and agree a timescale.

Rates

My fees are negotiable, depending on the nature of the job. I usually charge per hour at industry-standard rates (see the Society for Editors and Proofreaders minimum recommended rates of pay) but my pricing structure is flexible and I can charge a flat fee or by the word if that suits you better.

I accept payment in UK sterling or euros, by bank transfer, cheque or PayPal. I can also accept payments in other currencies, but may ask you to pay any charges.
